We are a growing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) company seeking an experienced Medical Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team remotely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate insurance claims

• Work claim rejections, denials, and appeals through resolution

• Review A/R aging reports and follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims

• Contact insurance companies to research claim status and reimbursement issues

• Correct claim errors and resubmit claims promptly

• Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and authorization information

• Monitor authorization dates, service limits, and payer requirements

• Review EOBs and ERAs and post payments accurately

• Identify underpayments, incorrect adjustments, and payment discrepancies

• Maintain detailed and accurate billing follow-up notes

• Research payer-specific billing requirements

• Communicate recurring billing problems to management

• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to correct documentation or billing issues

• Protect confidential patient information and comply with HIPAA requirements

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of hands-on medical billing experience

• Experience submitting claims and resolving rejected, denied, or unpaid claims

• Experience working insurance A/R and aging reports

• Knowledge of EOBs, ERAs, CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and payer requirements

• Experience verifying eligibility, benefits, and authorizations

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Clear written and verbal communication

• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently

• Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a private HIPAA-compliant workspace

Preferred Qualifications

• ABA therapy or behavioral-health billing experience

• Experience using CentralReach

• Knowledge of ABA CPT codes and authorization requirements

• Experience billing commercial insurance and Medicaid

• Experience using Rethink, Tebra, or similar EHR and practice-management systems

• Familiarity with electronic clearinghouses and insurance payer portals

• Experience working claims from initial submission through final payment
