Working in coordination with the Billing leadership team, utilize billing knowledge to ensure the timely and accurate processing of patient accounts. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a strong desire to work individually while meeting the needs of a national organization. An important key requirement is the self-accountability to drive success in a virtual team environment. This position is fully remote and can be performed anywhere within the United States.Compensation: $20.00- $24.00 Hourly with potential bonusResponsibilities:Claim level responsibilities are performed after a national trend has been identified and root causedMaintain current information on correct and lawful practices for billing payersClaim level actions to submit corrected claims to payer(s) for reconsiderationMay include some posting review or actions to resubmit claims to a payerVerify patient demographic information as it related to status of patient’s insurance as well as COBReview of ERA’s received and understanding of charges, expected allowable and actual allowableSkills & Experience:High school diploma or GED equivalent required1+ year of experience in a medical billing role2+ years Behavioral Health/Mental Health space preferablyPrevious experience with an electronic medical/health record, preferably AdvancedMDUnderstanding of EAP and Behavioral Health carve out plansUnderstanding of CPT, modifiers, Mental Health provider types and how each impact reimbursementUnderstanding of associated privacy legislation related to healthcare information, i.e., HIPAAStrong attention to detailQualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United StatesDemonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culturePhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
