Position Summary:

Saint Andrew's School is looking for responsible and enthusiastic Aftercare Counselors to supervise Lower School students from grades Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade. Counselors are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the children in the Beyond The Bell Aftercare Program at all times. Aftercare Counselors are scheduled to work Monday to Friday - Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 3pm to 5:30pm and Wednesday 2pm to 5:30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision of students on the playground.
• Interact and engage in games and activities with the students.
• Provide assistance with homework as needed.
• Distribute snacks to students within the program and ensure that students with specific dietary needs/allergies are monitored.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate records by providing timely incidents/accident reports, signing students in and out of aftercare and ensuring that students are picked up by authorized adults.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Positive and upbeat attitude
• Attention to detail
• Desire and interest in working with young children
• Ability to lead an activity as needed
• Demonstrate patience and self control with responding to conflicts as they arise
• Great communication skills with parents and children
• First Aid and CPR Certified
• 40 Hour Early Childhood Certificate or the willingness to obtain the certification

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and for the majority of the work day. May be required to lift up to 25lbs.
