Job Summary And Qualifications Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team, you will evaluate needs, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands‑on treatment that supports recovery through every stage of healing. Responsibilities Treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques according to prescriptions from a physician; perform testing and evaluation procedures on patients. Record and document patient observations, treatment and changes in condition; monitor, analyze and review clinical data; reevaluate and modify treatment plans and goals based on patient performance. Communicate clearly and provide explanation of care in an easily understood manner to patients and their families; keep families informed of patient status. Evaluate each patient’s functional abilities and needs; develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team. Deliver skilled, evidence‑based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care. Monitor patient progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure thorough, timely documentation reflecting quality outcomes. Educate patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond. Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences. Provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s preferred). Experience in an appropriate healthcare setting (preferred). Current Florida Occupational Therapist license. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA (American Heart Association). Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required (within 90 days of hire). Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
