About This Role

Now Hiring: P-3 Certified Lead Preschool Teacher - Long Term Substitute

Location: Lawrence Day School, Lawrenceville, NJ

Position Type: Full-Time, School Year (6-month position)

Start Date: January 2027 - June 2027

Hours: 7:45am - 3:00pm

Salary: $36,000 (prorated from a $64,000 annual salary for the 6 month period)

Lawrence Day School is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and nurturing Long Term Substitute Preschool Teacher to join our team as part of the Cardinal Kids Program. LDS has joined in the PEA Program in collaboration with the Lawrence Township Public Schools.

What You'll Do

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards along with Tools of the Mind Curriculum
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Conduct assessments and maintain student progress records
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, school leadership, and families
• Participate in ongoing professional development and trainings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Required)
• NJ P-3 Certification (Required) or CE/CEAS in process
• Experience working with preschool-aged children
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
