PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Program Assistant Northwestern State University is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Career Development System and scholarships for child‑care providers throughout Louisiana. The role involves data entry, program coordination, outreach, and support services. Responsibilities Timely and accurate data entry and record keeping. Assist with processing scholarship applications. Provide technical assistance for membership, scholarships, tax credits, and training records. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including bulk mail and daily mail to post office. Maintain office supplies and printing inventory. Develop and maintain relationships with child‑care centers, providers, and referral staff. Participate in program evaluation and outcome reporting. Prepare and deliver outreach materials and promote program benefits. Coordinate promotional events and training materials for meetings. Follow office policies, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree preferred. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including ACCESS and Word. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong telephone and customer service skills. Knowledge of grants, contracts, or child‑care programs a plus. Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Ability to travel throughout Louisiana and work evenings and Saturdays as needed. Lift up to 40 pounds.
