Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder (GTAW) to perform precision welding on aerospace components. The successful candidate will weld thin-wall stainless steel tubing and sheet metal while maintaining strict quality standards. This position is ideal for welders with aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) on aerospace components.
• Weld stainless steel, Inconel, titanium, and aluminum parts to engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and work instructions.
• Make process adjustments to ensure weld quality and product conformity.
• Perform visual inspections and maintain accurate production documentation.
• Support rework activities and basic welding setup as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work area.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all quality, safety, and company procedures.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

• 1–3 years of verifiable TIG (GTAW) welding experience.
• Aerospace or precision fabrication experience preferred.
• Vocational welding training or apprenticeship preferred.

Required Skills

• TIG/GTAW welding of:

• Experience welding thin-wall tubing and sheet metal .
• Ability to weld Type 321 stainless steel tubing with wall thicknesses of 0.028"–0.035" .
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
• Knowledge of filler metals and welding wire selection.
• Basic mathematical and measurement skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace welding experience.
• AWS D17.1 certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Experience welding in:
• • Horizontal position
  • Vertical position
  • Turntable/weld positioner
• Experience supporting stanchion setup and welding.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Physical Requirements
