The Universal Banker with PlainsCapital Bank is a cross-trained retail banking professional, providing both new accounts and teller services. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of products and available services and performs a variety of financial services such as opening and closing accounts, assisting with account inquiries and cash handling duties. The Universal Banker has a passion for meeting and building rapport with new clients and a desire to provide the one-on-one attention our customers expect. A versatile, team-player, the Universal Banker is able to work with minimal direct supervision and may mentor other members of the retail banking team on concepts related to cross-selling bank products and services and deepening customer relationships.

Responsibilities

1. Practices excellent customer service which includes prompt acknowledgment of customers, friendly and courteous disposition, customer satisfaction on transaction requests, and consistently maintaining a professional and pleasant image and communications whether in-person, via phone, or via e-mail.
2. Establishes new client relationships through the new account process while uncovering potential multi-product opportunities through a customer-needs based approach.
3. Explain various account options and services based on uncovering the client's particular needs.
4. Maintain a conversational approach to uncover pertinent financial needs for relationship growth.
5. Maintains a proactive approach with customer follow-up.
6. Review and explain required account documentation with customer and complete customer onboarding process.
7. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Bank's product suite.
8. Completes customer transactions which may include, but are not limited to: cashing checks, receiving deposits, distributing withdrawals, processing transfers, accepting loan payments, redeeming assorted savings bonds, performing cash advances, selling money orders, and adding stop payments to accounts.
9. Actively participates in huddles by engaging in discussions, assisting in leading huddles, or leading huddles, as assigned. Must also attend branch meetings and be available to work assigned hours.
10. Maintains a thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory practices.
11. Follow and excel at Bank's relationship management and customer service excellence programs.
12. Responsive to both internal and external clients on inquiries regarding bank products, services, and operations. Inquiries may be conducted in person, via the telephone or by mail.
13. Perform routine maintenance requests or fulfillment needs for clients.
14. Complete all assigned training requirements on time.
15. Actively participate in one-on-one coaching and feedback on performance for personal and career growth on a regular basis.
16. Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or some college a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of previous banking experience with a strong preference for experience in retail banking sales and/or new accounts.
• Previous cash handling experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and provide effective solutions.
• Must be able to maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Bank's products and services.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and utilize custom banking systems and applications in a rapidly changing business and technology environment.
• Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, high level of accountability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to cooperate and work within a team and across the organization.
