Technician

Upfitter TechnicianThe Level 3 Upfitter Technician is responsible for transforming new vehicles into fully equipped police and emergency response units while supporting production efficiency, quality standards, and team success in a fast-paced environment. This role requires advanced automotive electrical and mechanical expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and experience completing full emergency vehicle builds across multiple vehicle platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support a team of upfitter technicians to meet production and quality goalsConduct daily team meetings to assign tasks and review prioritiesPerform advanced installations of emergency vehicle equipment, including: Wiring harnesses and controllersLight bars and power suppliesConsoles and partitionsCamera and radar systemsRadio and communications equipmentPush bumpers and related componentsComplete full interior and exterior vehicle upfit installations and modificationsPerform complete vehicle and console wiringInstall front and rear radar systems and integrated camera systemsBuild and configure full emergency response units, including: K9 unitsAdministrative unitsPatrol unitsWork across multiple vehicle platforms including vans, Durangos, Tahoes, Explorers, and trucksIntegrate customer-supplied equipment and specialty componentsDisassemble and reassemble vehicles according to specificationsRead and interpret electrical schematics and program systems as neededTroubleshoot technical issues and support quality control effortsMaintain accurate production and quality documentationRecommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and build qualityEnsure compliance with safety standards and proceduresQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredValid Texas driver's license required5+ years of automotive electrical systems experience preferred5+ years of police or emergency vehicle upfitting experience preferredStrong understanding of electrical schematics and system integrationAbility to lift up to 50 lbsStrong attention to detail and leadership mindsetPositive attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAbility to pass an extensive background checkPreferred CertificationsASE Automotive Technician certification or valid mechanic's licenseEVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) certificationCompensation & Benefits$35 per flag hour based on actual upfitting time per vehicleRelocation assistance available on a case-by-case basisHealth insuranceDental insurance401(k)Paid time off
