Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:

• Directs journeyman and non-journeyman level personnel in the daily, non-recurring and preventative maintenance of buildings and utilities, grounds, and historic structures.
• Plans and organizes work schedules and sequences of operations on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis for the Lower Current District.
• Directly supervises one WG-09 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator and five permanent subject to furlough employees- two WG-09 Maintenance Mechanics, two WG-05 Maintenance Worker and one WG-07 Maintenance Worker. Also provides direct supervision to a staff of approximately up to 10 temporary employees.
• Serves as the technical expert for construction, rehabilitation and repair of structures, buildings, and utilities throughout the lower current district for both historic and non-historic structures.
• Utilizes knowledge of trades and crafts for a variety of shop operations and associated materials to perform cost estimates, prepare plans, designs, and specifications for the accomplishments of a variety of jobs ranging from small to large complex projects. Responsible for forecasting both manpower and material requirements for a full budget year for the maintenance program.
