Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $15.00-$21.00/hour (based on experience)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (4 Months)

Work Environment: Onsite Medical Office

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to support a busy healthcare call center and medical practice environment. This role is ideal for individuals with prior healthcare, medical scheduling, patient services, medical receptionist, pharmacy technician, or healthcare customer service experience. As a Medical Scheduler, you will serve as one of the primary points of contact for patients, helping coordinate appointments, answer questions, process requests, and ensure patients receive the support they need. This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Scheduling & Coordination

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments

• Coordinate provider schedules and appointment availability

• Manage referrals and appointment requests

• Assist patients with navigating healthcare services

Patient Support & Customer Service

• Handle approximately 60-100 inbound calls per day

• Respond to patient questions and concerns professionally

• Route patient requests to the appropriate provider or department

• Support prescription refill requests and referral inquiries

• Maintain a positive patient experience during every interaction

Registration & Insurance Support

• Assist with patient registration and demographic updates

• Verify patient information and insurance details

• Support billing and insurance-related inquiries

• Assist with account management and payment-related questions

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system

• Document interactions and requests appropriately

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements

• Support office staff with administrative duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting

• Previous appointment scheduling experience

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Comfortable handling a high volume of phone calls

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Strong computer skills and typing proficiency

• High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC experience

• EMR/EHR experience

• Medical terminology knowledge

• Medical call center experience

• Patient registration experience

• Insurance verification experience

• Pharmacy technician experience

Pay and Benefits
