Overview Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) — Amsterdam, NY. Travel assignment begins 06/01/2026 for 13 weeks in a Short Term Acute Care setting. Weekly pay range: $2,129–$2,253 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 7:00 am–3:30 pm. This role supports perioperative teams as a circulating nurse in a dynamic OR environment. Note: prior staff members are not eligible as travelers; local travelers within 50 miles may be accepted with a bill rate adjustment. The facility reserves the right to cancel up to five shifts at no cost during the assignment. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,129–$2,253 per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 am–3:30 pm Start date: 06/01/2026 Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital (travel assignment) Guaranteed hours: 0.0 On-call requirements: 1–2 on-call shifts during Mon–Thu; every 4th–5th weekend; weekend call 3:30 pm Friday to 7:00 am Monday; must be within 15 minutes of the facility when on call Responsibilities Serve as the circulating nurse in the operating room, maintaining a sterile field and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures. Prepare the OR, ensure instrument and equipment readiness, and manage intraoperative counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) for patient safety. Assist surgeons, anesthesia providers, and scrub staff; anticipate needs and respond to intraoperative changes or emergencies. Document perioperative care and ensure accurate patient records, positioning, and specimen handling as required. Adhere to infection control principles, safety protocols, and hospital policies; communicate effectively with team members and patients. Requirements Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license appropriate for practice (State of New York) Experience: Minimum 2 years of Operating Room circulator experience Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Experience: Travel experience preferred Availability: Must be able to work the stated shift and on-call schedule; on-call coverage within 15 minutes of the facility Location policy: Local travelers within 50 miles accepted with bill rate adjustments Additional notes: Facility will not consider previous staff members as travelers; admin fee is deducted from the rate; facility may cancel up to 5 shifts without cost during the assignment Benefits and Support 24/7 recruiter and travel support Dedicated support throughout the assignment Fast credentialing process Nationwide assignments Extension opportunities Weekly pay available Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
