About Facility:


o 874 Licensed beds


o Level I Trauma


o Teaching Hospital


o Chest Pain Center


o Stroke Center


o Magnet Designated


o Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Unit Information:


o Beds: 36


o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years Med/Tele RN exp (Resource Team)


o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:


o Sepsis, Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders, infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD
Patient Ratios:


o RN: 1:5-6, acuity dependent; (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8)


o CNA: 1:9
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:


o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)
Skills required:


o General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps


o Medication gtt management to include : Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF
Support within the Department:


o CNA - ratios vary


o Receptionist/HUC


o Charge nurse, 24/7 - may or may not have patients


o Phlebotomy - peripheral blood draws only


o IV/VAT Team


o Resource Nurse - as available


o RT, 24/7


o Hospitalist, 24/7


o Intensivist, 24/7


o Telemetry monitoring/tech? No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond
Technology/Equipment:


o EMR: EPIC


o IV Pump: Alaris


o Med dispensing: Omnicell


o Monitors: Phillips
Floating: If yes, where?


o Within region and scope of practice


o Will be required to float per region needs - will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice - DECLINE if not agreeable

o Please see job posting for dedicated region and discuss the region that applies (will change per requisition)
Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children's Hospital)
Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)
• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
Orientation (facility and unit) :


o NEO


o 2 days departmental
Scheduling:


o Weekend rotation: every other


o No call for travelers


o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays


o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
