Electro Maintenance MechanicThe Electro Maintenance Mechanic maintains production efficiency and product quality by ensuring the reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in a climate-controlled plastics manufacturing environment. This role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems, including injection molding equipment, robotics, and industrial automation. The position requires hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of equipment, as well as accurate documentation and effective communication with production and service personnel.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the safe and reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive and predictive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and injection molding equipment.Follow diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform effective repairs.Observe mechanical devices in operation, listen for irregularities, and use precision measuring and testing instruments to locate sources of mechanical and electrical problems.Remove defective parts by safely dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examine parts for wear, damage, and proper form and texture.Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used components and using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjust functional parts of devices, control instruments, and machine settings using appropriate hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges to restore proper operation.Safely adjust molding machine operational parameters to optimize performance and maintain product quality.Repair and maintain end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) for robotic systems to support reliable automation and part handling.Troubleshoot and support robotics integration, industrial automation systems, and associated equipment to minimize downtime.Interpret and work from mechanical, electrical, and automation schematics, blueprints, and electrical designs to diagnose and correct equipment issues.Install and route electrical conduit, wiring, and related electrical components in accordance with applicable standards and best practices.Install copper and PVC piping for equipment, utilities, and related systems as required for production and maintenance projects.Use voltage/ohm meters and other electrical test equipment to diagnose electrical issues and verify proper operation of circuits and components.Perform preventive maintenance tasks and accurately enter all work performed, findings, and parts used into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Look up and identify required parts using catalogs, machine manuals, and technical documentation, and assist with ordering and verifying receipt of parts and supplies.Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, and helping to place and expedite orders when necessary.Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment, tools, and supplies efficiently while achieving required job results.Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, including conveying information through written notes, typed documentation, and technical drawings.Provide mechanical maintenance information by responding to questions and requests from production and other internal stakeholders.Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, trends, and recurring issues.Communicate effectively over the phone with machine service personnel and vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement recommended solutions.Measure and verify components and assemblies using appropriate precision measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and function.Support machine building, process optimization, and continuous improvement activities related to equipment performance and reliability.Monitor and promote compliance with routine preventive maintenance techniques among production workers to help control downtime.Follow basic safety practices at all times, including safe use of power tools, hoists, cranes, and test equipment.Perform other maintenance and repair duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.Essential Skills25 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.High School Diploma or GED.Strong hands-on maintenance technician with mechanical and electrical repair experience.Proficiency in preventive and predictive maintenance for production machinery and automation equipment.Ability to safely adjust molding machine operational parameters.Experience with robotics integration and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) support.PLC programming and troubleshooting skills for industrial automation systems.Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including use of voltage/ohm meters and other test instruments.Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.Experience supporting injection molding equipment and related automation.Proficiency with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and conveyor systems.Ability to install electrical conduit and wiring to support new equipment and modifications.Ability to install copper and PVC piping for equipment and utility systems.Competence in using precision measuring instruments such as rules, calipers, and micrometers.Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation processes.Ability to fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Strong technical understanding and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.Attention to detail in maintenance work, measurements, and documentation.Ability to communicate clearly in writing, verbally, and through drawings.Commitment to basic safety practices and safe operation of power tools, hoists, and cranes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience reading and interpreting electrical and The environment is structured and process-driven, with the use of CMMS systems for scheduling and documenting maintenance work. You will spend time both on the production floor and in maintenance or machine shop areas, performing installations, repairs, adjustments, and inspections. Work hours align with manufacturing operations and may require flexibility to support production needs and minimize downtime.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamilton, NJ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $79040.00/yr.
