Housekeeper / Custodian – Dealership Facilities

Parkway Family Auto Group is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeper/Custodian to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of our dealership facilities. This position plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees.

Parkway Family Auto Group is locally owned and operated and has proudly served the Houston area for more than 40 years. Our organization includes Parkway Chevrolet, Parkway Family Kia, and Parkway Family Mazda, along with elite, state-of-the-art service departments and customer facilities.

Position Summary

The Housekeeper/Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all assigned dealership areas, including customer lounges, restrooms, offices, break rooms, service areas, and other dealership facilities. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, flexibility, and the ability to complete all housekeeping tasks assigned by management.

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced dealership environment. Candidates should be comfortable performing a wide variety of cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the workday.

Schedule

Full-time position

Primarily day shift; however, schedule flexibility is required based on operational needs. Future evening or night shift opportunities may become available.

Some Saturday availability will be required. Dealership operations are closed on Sundays, though certain affiliated operations may have varying schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all dealership facilities and assigned areas daily

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and disinfect surfaces throughout the dealership

• Maintain cleanliness of customer waiting areas, offices, conference rooms, break rooms, service drives, and restrooms

• Empty trash receptacles throughout the day and at closing

• Restock restroom, kitchen, and refreshment supplies as needed

• Maintain guest refreshment areas, including coffee and beverage stations

• Clean windows, glass doors, counters, tables, appliances, and other surfaces

• Respond promptly to spills, unexpected messes, and urgent cleaning needs

• Assist with periodic deep cleaning projects and special assignments

• Safely use cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment according to company procedures

• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while working around customers and employees

• Perform additional housekeeping, cleaning, and facility support duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred

• Automotive dealership experience is a plus, but not required

• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Dependable attendance and punctuality required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Valid Driver’s License required

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Minimum one year of housekeeping or custodial experience preferred

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift throughout the workday. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

This position regularly works around cleaning chemicals, wet floors, moving vehicles, shop equipment, and varying indoor and outdoor conditions. Noise levels may be moderate to loud, depending on dealership activity.

Starting at $14/hour based on experience
