Gardening Facilitator- Contractor

Overview The gardening facilitator will lead online and in person programs related to gardening for adults 55 and better. Gardening may include container gardening, supporting community gardening (with the main community garden site located in Chatham), using a grow light, and more. Position type This is a temporary contractor position and is not eligible for Mather benefits. Compensation The gardening facilitator position is an independent contractor role and paid $105 per contact hour in person, $84 per contact hour online via Zoom. This rate includes all class preparation, setup and travel expenses. There are four additional hours of orientation/onboarding prior to class assignments, paid at $25 per hour. Responsibilities Lead online and in-person programs related to gardening for adults 55 and better. Cover topics such as container gardening, supporting community gardening (with the main site in Chatham), using grow lights, and related activities. Qualifications SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Comfort with teaching groups of various sizes Capacity and willingness to work with flexibility and openness, and the ability to foster positive peer interactions among participants. A strong commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of Mather. Preferred: Experience working with older adults; experience teaching online.
