Senior Systems Engineer - Agile Product Owner

Location: McKinney, Texas, United States (onsite) Role Overview Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer who also serves as an Agile Product Owner. The role combines strong systems engineering fundamentals with a solid background in software engineering, requirements management, and Agile team leadership. What You Will Do Serve as the Agile Product Owner for a cross‑functional engineering team. Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories, features, and system‑level requirements. Lead requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and V&V planning. Coordinate across software, systems, hardware, and test engineering teams. Support system integration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis. Conduct technical trade studies and contribute to architecture decisions. Facilitate Agile ceremonies and maintain the product backlog. Present technical status and risks to leadership and customers. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in systems and software engineering. Experience in Agile development and leadership of cross‑functional teams. Background in systems hardware/software integration. Proficiency with DOORS/DNG, Cameo, Jira, Confluence or similar tools. Programming knowledge of C++, Python, or a similar language. Experience with modeling, simulation, or performance analysis. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required. Active DoD Secret clearance is preferred. Prior Product Owner or Agile leadership experience is desirable. Experience with defense‑related systems engineering is a plus. Security Clearance U.S. citizenship is required. The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance; candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the clearance after day one. Salary Competitive range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
