Job Description The licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) reflects NM’s mission, vision, and values, and complies with all relevant policies and standards. The position includes direct patient care, teaching, committee participation, and departmental process improvement. The therapist serves as a role model for all therapists and clinical interns in professional, clinical, communication, education, and leadership activities. Take full responsibility for OT patient management from initial contact to discharge. Adhere to department policy regarding evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Complete daily notes reflecting patient response, performance, and assessment. Provide educational materials and methods tailored to each patient’s level of understanding. Participate in committees, department processes, and special projects. Create a culture of respectful communication through listening and open conversation. Develop and maintain professional relationships with healthcare team members. Accept constructive feedback and make timely changes. Proactively complete non‑patient care responsibilities within established timeframes. Contribute to educational efforts such as in‑services and new hire orientation. Actively participate in student clinical or observation programs as a mentor or host. Maintain productivity standards and complete required education and training. Accommodate patient care needs and department meetings as required. Flex schedule or assignment to meet patient care needs and staff meetings outside normal hours.
