Ophthalmic Technician

2020 On‑site is the leader in mobile vision care. Since 2014, our Mobile Vision Clinics have provided eye care to over 75,000 patients at workplaces, schools and neighborhoods. In May 2020, we expanded our services to include clinical‑trial assessments and tests, bringing uniquely equipped Mobile Clinics directly to participants. Our focus is “radical patient‑centricity”, prioritizing the patient experience and minimizing time and distance barriers. The Opportunity Reporting to the Sr. Director of Life Sciences, the Ophthalmic Technician will be a patient‑facing member who drives a mobile eye clinic and manages the operational processes of life‑science projects. This role requires 100% travel and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, mobile environment. What you will do Interface with patients to perform ophthalmic testing using cutting‑edge equipment to accurately assess vision, eye pressure, retinal imaging and more. Drive the mobile clinic to different states where patients require access to care (a commercial driver’s license is not required). Obtain and maintain necessary certifications for operating equipment onboard the mobile eye clinic. Build reports and transmit data precisely, as instructed per each clinical protocol. Communicate with patients and update them with pertinent information for their visit. Enter data and transmit information to sponsors, PIs, and reading centers. Ensure data is accurate, timely, and acceptable upon submission. Travel 100% of the time. Who you are Certified Paraoptometric or Ophthalmic Technician (not required). Experience working with patients in a clinic setting. Experience with ophthalmic testing or related skills. Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting. Excellent communication skills and a timely response to patient/client needs. Curiosity about new subjects and a willingness to learn. Comfortable driving and traveling. Dependable, organized, and a team player. Attention to detail and ability to capture data in a way that maximizes a positive patient/client experience. Ability to manage tasks and prioritize pressing needs. Flexibility to work outside of a typical Monday‑Friday 9‑5 schedule.
