The Role As a Radiology Technologist in this full-time, mid-shift position, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams, ensuring image quality, and assisting radiologists in providing accurate diagnoses. Your work will directly support clinical teams in delivering high-quality care to patients at a leading academic medical center. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Position and immobilize patients for imaging exams, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety. Image Quality: Review radiographs to ensure high-quality images before submission to the radiologist. Exam Processing: Accurately order, track, and charge exams using the HIS/RIS system. Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists to obtain "wet readings" and assist with film processing and CD creation upon request. Maintenance: Maintain clean and functional work areas and equipment. Prioritization: Manage urgent exam orders to ensure efficient workflow and timely results. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications: Required: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent At least 1 year of relevant work experience in radiology, with familiarity in imaging procedures and practices Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds Preferred: Experience in a surgical or operating room environment What We Offer We are dedicated to supporting your professional growth and well-being.
