\nPediatric Pathologist Opportunity at Thriving Free-Standing Childrens Hospital!
\nThe Department of Pathology at Dayton Childrens Hospital, located in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking to expand its faculty with a MD or DO board-certified pediatric pathologist. This is a full-time employed position and includes a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. In addition, all physicians hold faculty appointments with the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. The faculty member will work as a part of a collaborative team to include 2 additional pathologists, a pathology assistant, and a team of laboratorians.
\nDayton Childrens Hospital is a 231-bed (including the free-standing Mathile Center for Health and Wellbeing), Level 1 Trauma Center, Magnet certified free-standing tertiary care facility that serves the 20-county area in southwest Ohio and eastern Indiana and is a major teaching center for the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. The Department provides full-service support for all pediatric subspecialties, excluding diagnostic bone marrow and renal biopsy, with approximately 3,000 surgical and 500 cytology specimens annually. The department is involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows. We also provide ongoing collaboration and education with the clinical services through monthly conferences. Dayton Children's Hospital has been recognized as a 2025-2026 Best Children's Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in three specialties: NICU, orthopedics, and mental health.
\nThe ideal candidate is board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology through the American Board of Pathology, with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Pathology. Experience in pediatric pathology is preferred; exceptional candidates completing fellowship will also be considered. Candidates must be eligible for an active, unrestricted Ohio medical license. Primary service responsibilities include all shared areas of pediatric pathology, including surgical pathology, autopsy, biopsy, cytology, and on-call services. This is an in-person, on-site position.
