What you'll do:The Truss Assembler is responsible for assembling wood trusses and structural building components according to work orders, specifications, and production schedules. This role supports manufacturing operations by preparing materials, measuring and fastening components, and ensuring finished products meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Production Responsibilities
- Assemble wood trusses and structural components according to work orders, blueprints, layouts, and production specifications.
- Measure, mark, position, and fasten materials using hand and power tools while ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the assembly process.
- Set up workstations and materials, safely operate production equipment, and move completed products to designated staging areas.
- Inspect materials and finished products, remove damaged or non-conforming materials, and promptly communicate quality or production concerns.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules, workflow priorities, and daily goals.
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements, inspect equipment before use, and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Previous experience in truss manufacturing, carpentry, construction, or a production environment preferred.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
- Experience operating production equipment, pneumatic tools, or forklifts preferred; ability to obtain forklift certification as required.
- Ability to work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions and within manufacturing environments with exposure to machinery, dust, noise, and vibration.
- Ability to perform physical and repetitive tasks throughout the shift, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, and regularly lifting 75+ lbs.; heavier materials may require assistance.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as needed to support production schedules.
