About Diopta

Diopta is a virtual 3d previs studio for filmmakers. You can block actors, move the camera, dial in framing and lenses, light the set, and save shots in real time, so you see the scene before you're on set.

The Internship

This is a for-credit internship for students who want to learn how a creative technology startup finds its users. You'll work directly with the founder and learn go-to-market positioning, social strategy, and customer discovery.

What you'll do and learn

- Social media strategy and execution. Plan and run Diopta's Instagram and TikTok, and learn what

makes filmmaker-focused content perform.

- Content built from the product. Turn previs, lighting, lens, and framing workflows into short-form

content that filmmakers share.

- Customer discovery. Talk to working filmmakers and film students, and learn how to run interviews

and turn the answers into product and positioning insight.

- Go-to-market strategy. Research who our first users are and where they spend time. Build and

present a go-to-market plan with your mentor.

- Community and partnerships. Map film schools, creator communities, and filmmaker accounts, and

learn how early-stage companies earn trust in a niche.

- Measurement. Track what works, run small experiments, and present a short weekly summary.

Who we're looking for

Required

- Currently enrolled in a college or university program that offers credit for internships, ideally film, media, communications, or marketing

- Real filmmaking experience: on-set experience or post-production experience as a director, DP, editor, gaffer, producer, or similar, on shorts, indies, commercials, music videos, or student films

- Fluency with film tools and workflows (cameras and lenses, lighting, shot lists, storyboards, editing

software) and a clear sense of what filmmakers want and what frustrates them

- Go-to-market instincts: you've grown a social account, run a launch, built a community, or promoted something

- Native fluency in TikTok and Instagram

- Comfort contacting strangers and running short interviews

Nice to have

- Experience with 3D, virtual production, or previs

- Analytics or community-building experience

Details

- About 10 hours/week for 3 months , hybrid in NYC.

- This is an unpaid, for-credit internship . It's open only to students whose school will approve it for

credit.

- Strong interns may be considered for a paid or equity role
