Join our passionate team in Albuquerque, NM, producing top-tier supplements since 1982 with great benefits like PTO, health coverage, on campus gym/basketball courts, walking path, free supplements and 401k.Vitality Works is in search of qualified candidate for our Sourcing Specialist position.Position Summary:The Sourcing Specialist analyzes, organizes, and optimizes sourcing processes to streamline operations and reduce costs while maintaining high-quality standards. This role ensures product and vendor qualifications meet all QC requirements (kosher, COG, vegan, gluten-free, etc.), compares pricing, negotiates with vendors, and manages RFPs and bidding processes. The position also cultivates strong supplier relationships and explores creative strategies for bundling procurement services or tailoring orders to secure favorable terms.Position Responsibilities:Partner with Quality Control and Product Development to maintain and continuously update a database of qualified vendors for each item, ensuring quality specifications are met and documented.Source and cultivate relationships with new and existing suppliers, focusing on reliability, quality, and competitive pricing.Collaborate with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced materials and services align with business needs and regulatory/quality requirements.Implement and optimize inventory strategies by reviewing, consolidating, and rationalizing materials where feasible.Procure and manage pre-shipment samples for quality testing and validation.Solicit and compare quotes from multiple suppliers; compile detailed cost analyses.Negotiate contracts to optimize pricing, terms, lead times, and total value of ownership; ensure contract terms reflect negotiated details.Conduct comprehensive quote assessments and contribute to supplier selection decisions based on objective cost and value analyses.Identify and implement solutions to improve overall procurement spend, efficiency, and outsourced capabilities.Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and metrics to support auditability and continuous improvement.QualificationsSkills & Requirements:Source and cultivate relationships with new and existing suppliers, focusing on reliability, quality, and competitive pricing.Collaborate with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced materials and services align with business needs and regulatory/quality requirements.Implement and optimize inventory strategies by reviewing, consolidating, and rationalizing materials where feasible.Solicit and compare quotes from multiple suppliers; compile detailed cost analyses.Negotiate contracts to optimize pricing, terms, lead times, and total value of ownership; ensure contract terms reflect negotiated details.Conduct comprehensive quote assessments and contribute to supplier selection decisions based on objective cost and value analyses.Identify and implement solutions to improve overall procurement spend, efficiency, and outsourced capabilities.Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and metrics to support auditability and continuous improvement.Clear, professional, and effective communicator across all levels of the organization — from the production floor to senior leadershipStrong active listening skills with the ability to accurately interpret and act on information delivered verbally or in written formExceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracyHighly adaptable with the ability to respond to change quickly and follow through on tasks with a strong sense of urgencySolid critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to challengesDetail-driven with a consistent commitment to quality, accuracy, and accountability in all work productPosition will require entry to GMP and controlled areas with specific dress code requirements.Position will require some walking, standing and sitting.Physical Demands & Working Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
