Senior DevOps Engineer (Chantilly)

OverviewByte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer.What will you do?Responsibilities:Building a DevOps pipeline using AWS, Azure, Google technologies, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD and tool like Ansible and TerraformBuilding and deploying infrastructure using Automation tools such as Linux scripting, Python, and PowerShellUsing knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as neededOral and written communication skills providing design, standard operating procedures and security documentationWillingness to learn new technologies and help clients with their technical issues before escalating to senior staffProvide emergency 24x7 on-call support to mission systems as needed on a rotating basisMandatory Requirements:Experience in automating installation, monitoring, and O&M tasks using Linux scripting or PythonExperience working with Terraform, Docker and KubernetesExperience with Cron, iptables, permissionsExperience with OpenVPN, SELinux, Network File System (NFS) and Common Internet File System (CIFS)Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPCStrong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, and distributed networksExtensive experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineeringExperience with VMware technologies, to include vSphere 7/8, VSAN, and specifically VMware Horizon View Virtual Desktop InfrastructureProficiency in data security technologies, including encryption tools, access control mechanisms, and other data-centric security toolsDesired Requirements:System Administration and IT certification in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fieldsProficiency in data security technologies, including encryption tools, access control mechanisms, and other data-centric security toolsUnderstanding of Windows Active Directory, as well as the ability to configure/edit Windows Active Directory and Domain ServicesDo you have what it takes?Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph7+ years’ background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Cyber Forensics, Engineering, or other related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training and work/military experience7+ years’ experience working in software engineering, application development and/or web application development and deploymentPay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $175,000-$230,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
