Advanced Telemetry Technician - Night Shift

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an Advanced Telemetry Technician working the night shift from 1800 to 0630. This role involves continuous cardiac monitoring and surveillance of telemetry patients, ensuring timely recognition and reporting of rhythm changes and potentially life-threatening arrhythmias to the nursing staff according to established protocols.

Job Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor patient cardiac rhythms and physiological parameters with precision.
• Observe, document, and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and abnormalities.
• Promptly communicate any concerns or emergency conditions to the Registered Nurse.
• Operate and troubleshoot monitoring equipment effectively.
• Maintain composure and clear communication in high-pressure situations.
• Manage documentation of patient monitoring initiation and discontinuation, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Utilize office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, copiers, telephones, and computers to support daily operations.
• Participate actively in team activities and foster a positive work environment.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Telemetry Technician or ECG interpretation course is preferred.
• One to two years of experience in a patient care setting, preferably as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Telemetry Technician.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is required.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation with the ability to pass a competency exam.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and passing yearly competency tests.
