The Shift Leader supervises shifts and/or work areas in the operation of a Papa John’s restaurant to ensure high quality products and customer service are delivered and restaurant profitability is achieved. The role includes managing operations, executing company policies, procedures, programs and systems, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and ethical practices. Responsibilities Adhere to guidelines, techniques, and expectations for each station, including dough management, accuracy, and proper portioning. Perform assigned station duties such as making quality products, following all preparation procedures, and maintaining established product holding times. Consistently contribute to achieving the company’s product goal. Commit to meeting the needs and expectations of the restaurant’s customers, minimize customer complaints, and respond appropriately to customer needs. Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the TM handbook, including image, attendance, safety, and security. Exemplify core values, maintain a positive attitude, work well with others, and remain flexible and adaptable to change. Ensure adequate shift coverage for the restaurant. Provide immediate feedback and correct problems when identified. Maintain product quality, customer service, and performance responsibilities (such as MCE readiness, food/labor costs, and restaurant cleanliness) within acceptable standards, and follow all policies and procedures related to shift management. Contribute to profit goals by ensuring they stay within company guidelines and target goals using the FOCUS System. Execute cash management duties. Assist in managing adequate inventory levels using the company’s systems and guidelines to minimize loss. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Serv‑Safe or local/state food service certification preferred. Previous restaurant shift lead experience preferred. Successful and stable employment history. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to work long hours (32+ hours generally required), scheduled or unscheduled, including nights, weekends, and emergencies. Ability to successfully perform the job duties of all positions in the restaurant.
