Position OverviewThe Project Engineer assists with developing integrated solutions for the design and implementation of undersea fiber optic communication systems. In this role, you will work closely with multi-functional groups, including R&D, Manufacturing, Marine, Sales and Project Management. This is a fast paced and dynamic environment requiring the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while optimizing efficiency and maintaining engineering excellence.ResponsibilitiesUsing in-house software tools develop technical solutions for new subsea telecom cable systems based on Customers’ Requirements Coordinate internal teams in preparing technical proposals and ensure on time deliveryDefine project scope for R&D Engineers and assist Sales in developing bid strategySupport technical discussions with the Customers during new system bids and in project implementationWork with the PLM on defining product features needed for a given system bidProvide technical support to Sales during contract negotiationsAssist in developing and testing software tools, templates and calculatorsQualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering or related field is required (MS is preferred)Course work and/or experience in fiber optics and telecommunications.Understanding of optical networking concepts and building blocks, such as coherent optical transmission, DWDM, transponder, ROADM, EDFA/Raman amplification preferredStrong presentation skills and ability to manage multiple priorities are essentialExcellent verbal and written communication skillsInternational and domestic travel will be required at timesNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
