We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Houseman to support the daily operations of our hospitality and event spaces. The Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of banquet rooms, kitchens, storage areas, hallways, and service spaces while ensuring exceptional presentation standards for guests. This position plays a critical role in the setup and breakdown of events, equipment maintenance, sanitation, and overall facility readiness.

Responsibilities

• Complete the setup and breakdown of all events according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event diagrams, and management instructions.
• Arrange and dismantle tables, chairs, portable bars, buffet stations, service stations, staging, and other event equipment.
• Ensure all event spaces are properly prepared and guest-ready before, during, and after events.
• Inspect all equipment and supplies prior to use and promptly report or correct any deficiencies.

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, hallways, storage areas, service areas, kitchens, kiosks, and warehouse spaces.
• Clean floors, walls, windows, restrooms, and other facility surfaces throughout assigned shifts.
• Properly move, handle, store, and maintain equipment, including tables, chairs, staging, and other event furnishings.
• Maintain all storage and service areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.

• Follow all Department of Health (DOH) regulations, sanitation standards, and company safety procedures.
• Utilize proper dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation protocols.
• Ensure kitchen and warehouse areas remain clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
• Support overall facility cleanliness to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

• Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure items meet company quality standards.
• Verify quantities and conditions of incoming products and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist with organizing and storing inventory and supplies.

• Work collaboratively with team members, management, vendors, and other departments.
• Follow directions from supervisors and management promptly and professionally.
• Communicate effectively with all team members to support smooth operations.
• Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and a positive attitude at all times.

• Assist with the daily setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, serving stations, food service items, and demo kitchen/kiosk facilities.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management to support business needs.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in hospitality, banquets, event operations, or Houseman role preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
• Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation, safety standards, and Department of Health (DOH) guidelines.
• Knowledge of event setup and breakdown procedures.
• Strong work ethic; well-organized, reliable, and focused.
• Dependable and punctual with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions.
• Demonstrates professionalism and respect toward colleagues, managers, and vendors.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-hour shifts).

Location: Platform by JBF Pier 57

Schedule: Full Time, On-Site

Base salary: $22.00/hour
