Job Title: Facilities Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer for a contract-to-hire position. The role requires supporting the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks, including painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting systems (bulbs/ballasts), plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work, and general maintenance.
• Maintain the work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests.
• Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks, including on-call or emergency response situations if applicable.
• Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC, and pneumatic controls.
• Comply with all safety procedures.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
• Complete other assigned projects and tasks as necessary.

• 3 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within the first year.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Strong customer service skills.

• Trade school education, union training, military service, or college education is desirable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall.
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive.

Work Environment

This position is based in a large, multi-story commercial building with 5+ tenants. A customer-first mindset is essential when completing work orders and interacting with tenants.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Indianapolis,IN.
