Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant

Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our cardiology team at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Job duties include:

• Collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service
• Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
• Manage and assist in the smooth, efficient operations of the inpatient cardiology patient, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs, and outreach cardiology clinics
• Order testing as deemed necessary and remain proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.

Education: Master's Degree-Nurse Practitioner (Required)

Experience: Certification(s) and License(s): Basic Life Support Certification, Certified Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania)
