Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Pay: $19-$23/hr DOE Employment Type: temp-to-hire
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Royal Interpack is a fully integrated, eco-friendly PET thermoforming manufacturer producing food-grade packaging for the produce, bakery, and grab-and-go industries. Their Whitestown, IN facility is part of a global operation employing 500+ people and producing over 300 million lbs of recycled PET annually.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day outbound shipping operations at the Whitestown facility, ensuring accurate, on-time shipment of finished food-grade PET packaging to customers. This role leads a small shipping team, coordinates with internal production and warehouse teams, and ensures compliance with shipping procedures, documentation requirements, and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily outbound shipping activity including order staging, loading, and carrier coordination
• Lead and direct shipping team members throughout the shift to meet daily shipping targets
• Verify outbound shipments against pick lists, BOLs, and customer purchase orders for accuracy
• Coordinate trailer scheduling and communicate with carriers and drivers on pickup times and requirements
• Ensure finished goods are properly staged, labeled, and loaded per customer and carrier specifications
• Maintain accurate shipping records, BOLs, packing slips, and outbound documentation
• Conduct and document cycle counts and inventory audits as needed
• Communicate proactively with production and warehouse teams on order readiness and scheduling
• Train and support shipping team members on proper procedures and safety standards
• Enforce GMP guidelines, food safety standards, and all facility safety requirements
• Identify and escalate shipping discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of shipping, logistics, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, POs) required
• Experience with WMS or ERP systems a plus
• Forklift experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Solid communication skills - must coordinate across departments effectively
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and accountable to daily output metrics
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extended periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility
• Lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
• Working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
• PPE required (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, safety vest)
