Position Overview Controls Engineer – Indianapolis. As a Controls Engineer, you are the technical backbone of our automated production lines, hands‑on with high‑speed equipment to ensure manufacturing processes are stable, validated, and constantly improving. Responsibilities Optimize & Innovate: Lead the evolution of our automation and electromechanical processes, using data and operator feedback to make our lines faster, smarter, and more reliable. Launch New Tech: Partner with R&D and Process Development to bridge the gap between design and high‑volume manufacturing for new product launches. Own the Controls: Program, modify, and troubleshoot the “brains” of our machines—ensuring every sensor, motor, and PLC performs at peak efficiency. Manage Quality & Validation: Lead equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure all process changes meet strict regulatory standards without sacrificing production speed. Strategic Leadership: Manage multiple project lifecycles, mentor junior staff, and provide expert on‑call support to keep our 24/7 operations running smoothly. On‑Site: Engineers are dedicated to the Indianapolis site; travel typically Qualifications PLC & HMI Proficiency: Deep experience with Allen Bradley (RSLogix/Studio 5000) and FactoryTalk View. Electromechanical Systems: Strong knowledge of motion controls (Servos/VFDs), distributed I/O, sensors, and Cognex/Keyence Vision Systems. Validation Expertise: Proven ability to develop and execute equipment qualification protocols and write clear technical documentation. Vendor Management: Experience collaborating with external partners to source specialized solutions or navigate component obsolescence. Analytical Drive: Highly logical approach to problem‐solving, with the ability to run simulations and use test data to make informed decisions. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related discipline; at least 2 years of related experience. An advanced degree may substitute for previous experience or equivalent experience. Preferred: Familiarity with GMP in a regulated environment (Medical Device or Pharmaceutical). Experience with process improvement methodologies such as LSS or PDCA. Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to teach and educate stakeholders and colleagues. Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $68,800 – $127,800 annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance, and participation in a long‑term incentive program.
