Job Summary:
A specialized Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Largo, Maryland. This role involves providing advanced critical care to post-cardiac surgery patients, including those who have undergone procedures such as CABG, valve repairs or replacements, and thoracic surgeries. Candidates must bring their Maryland RN license on the first day of assignment. The position requires candidates with at least 2 years of CVICU or open heart experience and a strong skill set in managing complex cardiovascular patients.

Job Details:

• Position: CVICU RN
• Location: Largo, Maryland
• Shift: 3x12 Night shifts from 1930 to 0800, minimum 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 07/27/2026
• Certifications: Active Maryland RN license, ACLS, BLS; CPI certification preferred (online version accepted)
• Experience: 2+ years of CVICU or open heart surgery experience; 1-year charge nurse experience preferred; 2 years patient ratio experience; 2 years charting system experience with Epic preferred
• Required Qualifications: Valid MD RN license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, minimum 2 years CVICU/open heart experience, and ability to work nights.
• Additional Information: Ability to manage arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients, central lines, and use critical monitoring equipment such as FloTrac/Vigileo and Swan Ganz catheters. Proficiency in managing post-cardiac surgery patients immediately from the operating room or after procedures like TAVR, valve repair, or cardiac cath is essential. Candidates should be comfortable floating within the scope of CVICU and sister units, with no restrictions.
• Vaccinations: Flu vaccine required; no exemption.
