Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery (L&D)

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in related specialty (3 years preferred) License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Labor and Delivery experience - Antepartum experience - Newborn care experience Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient needs. Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Develops, implements, and coordinates an individualized plan of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments. Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. Manages the care of patients. Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities. Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. Provides patient-centered care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Must be available for every other weekend and three out of six holidays. No on-call or float requirements.
