Residential CDL Route Driver

Class B CDL Driver

Kahut Waste Services, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Class B CDL Driver to join our team in Clackamas & Canby, Oregon.

Schedule Monday-Friday

Shift 5:30 AM until the route is completed. This route typically averages about 45 hours a week.

Starting wage is $36.00/HR.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DRIVER:

In this position you will be operating an automated side load vehicle on specified routes depending on business needs.

Ability to safely service customers throughout the day, completing up to 900 stops per day.

Ability to read route tablet and service each customer identified on the route tablet or assigned by the dispatcher.

Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.

Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.

Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash/recycle at designated facilities.

Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting (50+ pounds), pushing, or pulling required of objects over 100 pounds.

Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.

The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 1-year commercial driving experience utilizing a Class B license REQUIRED

Minimum of 2-years commercial driving experience utilizing a Class B license PREFERRED

Stable work history (at least 2 years in most recent position)

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Clean driving record and compliance with DOT regulations (49 CFR 383.51)

Ability to handle the physical demands of the job

Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections

Position requires clean drug panel screening, clean motor vehicle report and eligible criminal background check to be eligible for employment.
