Aviation Project Manager

We are seeking an Aviation Project Manager to join our growing aviation team in Denver, CO. Your role will shape critical airport infrastructure that impacts communities and connectivity nationwide. Responsibilities Lead the full lifecycle of complex aviation design and construction projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery with FAA and industry standards. Own project delivery from end to end, overseeing scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk across aviation projects. Serve as a trusted client advisor and build strong relationships with airport clients, representing AtkinsRéalis' full suite of capabilities with minimal oversight. Support clients through planning, grant applications, design, procurement, construction administration, and closeout. Drive technical excellence and provide oversight on facilities, airfield, and landside infrastructure design; review engineering concepts, plans, and specifications to ensure quality and compliance. Partner with engineers, subconsultants, and technical teams to deliver integrated solutions. Guide project planning and execution, develop and manage cost estimates, staffing plans, schedules, and budgets. Solve complex engineering challenges, evaluate alternatives, mitigate risks, and implement practical, cost‑effective solutions. Mentor and develop talent, support and coach junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a high‑performing team environment. Engage with key agencies, collaborate with the FAA and DEN DEC on grants, inspections, and construction administration. Ensure quality assurance and field coordination through project delivery. Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, and budgets independently. Take corrective action as necessary and actively manage project budgets and profitability. Analyze financial reports and ensure timely billing and collections. Serve as the primary point of contact on assigned projects, draft routine contract addenda and change orders for senior management review, and direct and coordinate the work of the project team. Provide informal guidance to Associate PMs and technical staff and perform all other duties assigned. Lead capital improvement program (CIP) efforts. About You Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. Requires 8 years of experience in aviation engineering and/or project management, including 3 years of project management experience. PMP Certification, CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or equivalent is desirable, or actively working toward certification. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. Proven experience managing airport or aviation facilities or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of FAA standards, funding processes, and airport development programs. Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated success managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Unifier is a plus. Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
