The Jane and John Justin Institute for Mind Health was created to provide a single point of care for children with disorders of the nervous system. The Institute opened in October 2023 with >100,000 sq feet of clinical space and will house the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology, Psychology, Psychiatry, Developmental Pediatrics, Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics, Developmental Psychology, Pain Medicine, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. CCHCS is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized pediatric health care organization comprised of two free-standing medical centers totaling more than 600 beds, a physician network that employs more than 1,000 providers and APP’s, a home health organization, surgery centers and a comprehensive network of urgent care sites, and a thriving foundation that fosters innovation across all missions. The system has more than 60 primary and specialty care offices throughout North and West Texas, serving a 23-county referral network. Key Opportunity Join and help shape a thriving Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation practice that is supported through collaboration with 21 Child Neurologists, 4 Neurosurgeons, 4 Neuropsychologists, Psychiatrists/Psychologists, Pain Medicine specialists, Orthopedic Surgery, Physiatry, and DBP/NDD. Opportunities to develop subspecialty clinical interests in key areas such as cardiology, spina bifida, brain injuries, oncology, complex spine, and recently opened complex care clinic. Enjoy strong interdisciplinary collaboration and support from related specialties within the Institute combined with innovative clinic space that will facilitate the group’s collaborative care as part of the Justin Institute at Cook Children’s. 26-bed state-of-the-art Neuro-Rehabilitation unit located next to outpatient clinic, fully integrated motion analysis laboratory, comprehensive orthotics/prosthetics program with 3-D printing and an evolving robotics program. Clinical research and teaching, while not required, are encouraged in your areas of interest. The Neuroscience Research Center at Cook Children’s, supported through a $15 million endowment, provides ample research support from dedicated neuroscientists and support staff.
