The Clinical Specialist supports the Wisconsin region and reports directly to the Wisconsin RCOM. You are the clinical training and quality expert for our Wisconsin field teams. You will train and check the competency of new and seasonal clinical staff, keep vaccines safe through cold chain management, and lead clinical programs for the region. You will also coach team leaders and work onsite at clinics when needed. Your work keeps our Wisconsin clinics consistent, compliant, and safe for residents.

What You'll Do:

Onboarding and training

  • Deliver clinical onboarding training to new, seasonal, and PRN staff in Wisconsin, in person and virtually
  • Keep staff current with vaccine guidance, company protocols, and Wisconsin requirements
  • Support corporate onboarding sessions and work with the RCOM on what staff need to complete before and after onboarding

Competency checks

  • Perform and document competency checks for vaccine administration, injection technique, emergency response, infection control, and documentation
  • Observe staff at clinics, give clear feedback, and coach staff who need more support
  • Keep competency records complete and audit-ready
  • Flag performance or safety concerns RCOM quickly

Cold chain management

  • Own the cold chain process for vaccine storage, transport, and handling in the region
  • Train staff on temperature monitoring, equipment use, and what to do when storage falls out of range
  • Review temperature logs, investigate excursions, and complete required reports
  • Work with suppliers and pharmacy partners to resolve vaccine storage and handling issues

Lead program management

  • Lead clinical programs for Wisconsin from planning through completion, such as Lead Clinics, pneumococcal programs, and special projects
  • Set up clinical workflows, checklists, and standards that work across Wisconsin communities
  • Track program results and report on quality, compliance, and trends to the RCOM
  • Find process gaps and put improvements in place with operations, customer success, and compliance teams
  • Manage the MPS Lead Testing Program working with MPS and MHD.  Including operations of the clinic, quality checks, training of staff and reporting to MHS and State Department of Hygiene
  • Support training of staff on WIR

Training of team leaders

  • Train and coach Wisconsin team leaders on running a clinic, managing staff, and handling customer communication
  • Teach team leaders to complete pre-clinic and post-clinic tasks correctly, including eligibility checks and registry and EMR documentation
  • Build team leaders' skills in coaching, problem solving, and escalation

Onsite services

  • Work at clinics as needed to give vaccines, support teams, and fill staffing gaps
  • Serve as the clinical point person onsite for questions, adverse events, and special situations
  • Build good working relationships with community staff, nurses, and leaders

Support to the RCOM

  • Check that pre-clinic tasks are complete before each clinic (resident roster, eligibility checks, insurance verification), using the regional project planner as the source of truth
  • Help the RCOM plan clinic staffing by confirming seasonal and PRN coverage, schedules, and clinic assignments
  • Support recruiting by screening candidates, joining interviews, and giving the RCOM clinical feedback on candidates
  • Review post-clinic wrap-up reports and confirm vaccines are documented in the registry (WIR), TRACK, and the customer EMR (such as PCC) within 24 hours
  • Do quality checks on documentation, find errors or gaps, and follow up with staff to fix them
  • Manage clinic supplies and equipment, including vaccine and supply orders, coolers, and thermometers
  • Track staff licenses, certifications, and required trainings, and alert the RCOM before anything expires
  • Follow up on incidents, adverse events, medication errors, and cold chain excursions, and complete the required reports
  • Act as a clinical contact for community staff, answering questions and helping resolve concerns
  • Support new community start-ups, including first clinics, onsite setup, and handoff of clinic processes
  • Help prepare weekly operations reports and keep trackers current, such as clinic completion, staffing, and compliance
  • Give the RCOM feedback on what is working and what is not, and help update clinical procedures and training materials
  • Serve as clinical backup for the RCOM, including covering clinics and staff gaps when needed
Key Qualifications We're Looking For:

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Wisconsin
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in vaccine administration, long-term care, public health, or a related setting
  • Current BLS certification
  • Working knowledge of vaccine storage and handling, cold chain requirements, and infection control
  • Experience training, precepting, or coaching clinical staff
  • Comfort working in the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) and electronic health records
  • Willingness to travel across Wisconsin [percent] of the time, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
