This role involves significant driving as the office serves a large area in Michigan. The position is remote but requires the inspector to work closely with contractors. Responsibilities • Perform welding inspections in accordance with ASTM and AWS standards. • Conduct UT shearwave testing on structural steel components. • Travel extensively to sites across Michigan and maintain on-time reporting. Qualifications & Requirements Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – minimum certification required. Proficiency with AWS D1.1 and ICC bolt/frame certifications preferred. Clean driving record and valid driver’s license. Background check clearance; TWIC clearance preferred for government work. Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in Word and Excel. Self‑motivated, able to work independently while collaborating with contractors.
