Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $30.00 – $46.00 per hour W2 (commensurate with experience)

• Shift: Fixed 4x10 shift schedule: Monday – Thursday, 05:00 – 15:30 (Day Shift / 3-day weekends off)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-driven Avionics Technician to join the team at Deer Valley Airport (DVT) in Phoenix, AZ. Reporting directly to maintenance leadership, this technician will handle the diagnostic testing, inspection, bench repair, installation, and FAA compliance testing of avionics and electrical architectures across the fleet. This role provides strong career stability, a fixed four-day workweek, and ongoing exposure to modern glass-cockpit flight decks.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute bi-annual pitot-static and transponder recertifications in compliance with Title 14 CFR Parts 91.411 and 91.413.

• Build, modify, and repair custom aircraft electrical harnesses using precision crimping and soldering per AC 43.13 wiring standards.

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair complex aircraft avionics, electrical infrastructure, and flight simulator hardware.

• Perform avionics suite retrofits, system upgrades, and component integrations across the fleet.

• Review technical schematics, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, Service Bulletins (SBs), and Airworthiness Directives (ADs) to complete repair station documentation accurately.

Minimum Requirements

• 4+ years of recent hands-on avionics maintenance experience within the last 10 years.

• 1+ year of dedicated experience working with Garmin G1000 glass cockpit systems.

• Demonstrated experience conducting Part 91.411 and Part 91.413 recertification testing.

• Solid working knowledge of AC 43.13 standard aircraft wiring practices, including proficiency with ground test equipment, soldering, and crimping tools.

• Possession of a personal set of hand tools appropriate for avionics and electrical servicing.

• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform prolonged standing, stooping, and bending, and work in varied indoor/outdoor shop environments.

Ideal Qualifications

• Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.

• Active FCC Commercial Radio Operator License.

• Background working within a certificated Part 145 repair station.

• Direct hands-on maintenance experience with Cessna or Piper general aviation aircraft.
