Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

Job Title

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise trades and labor work on a regular, recurring, and substantially full-time and continuing basis. As a supervisor, the incumbent applies experience in and knowledge of trades and labor work in order to exercise technical and administrative supervision over a variety of subordinate trades occupations.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical and administrative supervision over subordinates performing various trades and labor occupations such as Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Worker, Electrician, Engineering Equipment Operator, Mason, Utility Systems Repairer-Operator, Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic, Plumber, Wood Crafter, Carpenter, etc.
• Developing and reviewing estimates, technical reports, plans, and specifications; projecting labor, equipment, and material requirements; and developing financial plans.
• Building and maintaining effective cooperative partnerships, establishing and maintaining working relationships with management, district supervisors, vendors, contractors, cooperating organizations, partnership associations, concessionaires, government agencies, community and volunteer groups, environmental organizations, and other special interest groups.
• Ensuring equal opportunity for all employees supervised, and in the selection of employees for training, promotions, awards and recognition, and career development opportunities.
• Ensuring that safety rules are followed, monitoring work in progress for proper sequence, procedures, methods, and meeting deadlines. Reporting to supervisor on progress of work and causes of work delays; answering questions of supervisor on overall work operations and status.
