Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Setting: School-Based Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral and instructional support to students in a school-based setting. Working under the supervision of a BCBA/BCaBA, the RBT will implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs, support classroom instruction, and promote positive behavioral outcomes. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant services. Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and ABA programs as directed by a BCBA/BCaBA
- Provide 1:1 and small group behavioral support within classroom environments
- Collect, track, and maintain accurate data on student behavior and progress
- Support students in skill acquisition, social development, and classroom participation
- Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Maintain professional communication with school staff and clinical supervisors
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all applicable ethical and regulatory standards
- Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Reports directly to a BCBA/BCaBA
- No supervisory responsibilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a 40-hour RBT training program (or willingness to complete prior to start)
- Successful completion of:
- RBT Competency Assessment
- RBT Certification Exam
- Ability to adhere to the RBT Ethics Code
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred
- Strong behavioral management and classroom support skills
- Ability to follow structured programs and ABA protocols with fidelity
- Reliable attendance and punctuality (essential for success in this role)
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work across grade levels and classroom settings
- Professional demeanor with the ability to build rapport with students and staff
