Program Assistant

Short-Term, Non-Continuing Program Assistant – Restorative Justice Mendocino-Lake Community College District seeks an equity-minded Program Assistant to support our restorative justice initiatives. This is a temporary, hourly role of 15–20 hours per week, paid $20.71 per hour. Responsibilities Coordinate with the program manager to develop project management plans. Assist with dissemination of program information and support services. Support budgetary transactions such as purchase orders, requisitions, PAFs, and budget transfers. Perform customer service activities, greeting students and community members. Provide administrative support: filing, records retention, and managing mail flow. Help organize and support events as needed. Assist the manager in maintaining a positive environment for stakeholders. Support data entry and reporting tasks. Assist with special projects, including audits, promotional events, and presentation development. Additional duties as required. Program Duties Support the Eagle Rise Program with administrative tasks. Provide outreach and event organization support. Lead workshops and programs for formerly incarcerated and justice‑impacted students. Salary and Benefits Hourly rate: $20.71. This is a Short‑Term Non‑Continuing (STNC) position authorized for up to 180 days. Benefits: Bronze level benefit plan at employee cost. Paid Time Off: 40 hours of sick leave per fiscal year. Retirement: May be eligible for CalPERS retirement, subject to hours worked. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Human Resources qualified hiring guidelines, including a background check and TB test. At least two years of experience in an administrative or office environment. Education: High School Diploma/GED equivalent; AA preferred. Licenses and Certifications: None required. Knowledge Of: Program and/or department processes. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills with tact, patience, and courtesy. Fiscal practices. Correct usage of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Administrative/programmatic best practices. Computer and software applications. Ability To: Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds. Follow verbal and written directions; follow through on tasks. Operate independently and in groups. Conduct oneself professionally.
