Construction Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Construction Attorney in Farmington Hills, MI. The role involves advising clients on complex construction law matters and participating in high-profile projects. Duties Advise clients on all aspects of development and construction projects. Draft and negotiate contracts related to development and construction. Counsel clients on real estate, financing, zoning, insurance, and environmental matters. Assist in planning and managing large, multifaceted projects. Resolve disputes through meetings, alternative dispute resolution, and litigation. Analyze and review project specifications to ensure contract compliance. Oversee claims, warranty submissions, and bond issues. Represent clients in construction defect cases involving architects, engineers, and contractors. Prepare construction liens and related documents for recording and perfection and manage construction lien matters including lien foreclosure litigation. Requirements 4+ years of experience in construction law, preferably with large-scale commercial projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to organization and detail. Ability to quickly understand complex, technical matters. Exceptional problem-solving skills. Experience managing projects or matters with multiple deliverables. Strong academic credentials. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan. Skills Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
