Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Emergency Department / Urgent Care Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is a leading, non‑profit healthcare organization dedicated to improving the health and well‑being of the Licking County community. Position Summary Provide comprehensive advanced emergency nursing care to patients by formulati‑ng a plan based on assessment and data collected during the patient history, examination, and applicable diagnostic procedures. Functions within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner as defined by the Advanced Nurse Practice Act, or for Physician Assistant candidates, within the state‑ or nationally‑recognized scope of practice of the physician assistant. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality emergency care to patients Collaborate with physicians as necessary to deliver full scope of patient care Give direction to ancillary staff Authenticate findings, reports, and plans in the medical record Pursue professional growth through continuing education, reading professional literature, and sharing experiences with colleagues Reflect the Mission, Vision, and Standards of CARE in personal performance Requirements Current RN license in the State of Ohio (if NP) Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing Will also consider Physician Assistant candidates Active Certificate of Authority in the State of Ohio Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by a nationally recognized certifying organization Demonstrate clinical skill, knowledge, and judgment necessary to provide emergency care within the scope of practice for nurse practitioners as defined by the Advanced Nurse Practice Act Demonstrate high‑level interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) with a diverse group of internal and external customers, such as patients, visitors, and staff Maintain professional flexibility and adaptability in a collegial environment Show insight into improving the health of patient populations, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Maintain clinical excellence through continuing education At least 3 years nursing experience in an Emergency Department preferred Maintain ACLS & PALS certification Maintain standard care agreement and credentialing through the hospital Proficiently operate office equipment, including electronic medical records and PCs, to efficiently complete position tasks LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards Equal Opportunity Statement Licking Memorial Health Systems is an equal‑opportunity employer and complies with all state, federal, and local regulations.
