Tool Room Machinist
Location: Flint Area, MI
Position Type: Direct Hire
Pay: Starting at $28.00 per hour or more based on experience
Our client is a growing manufacturing company in the Flint area that has been in business for more than 47 years. They manufacture large stainless steel containers, mixers, agitators, parts, and accessories for the OEM coatings and paint industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Tool Room Machinist to their team.
Position Summary The Tool Room Machinist will operate a variety of manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport mills and manual lathes, to produce, modify, and repair precision parts. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to producing high quality work.
Responsibilities

• Operate manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport mills and manual lathes.
• Produce, repair, and modify precision machined parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Repair and maintain small equipment as needed.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend solutions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Tool Room Machinist, Manual Machinist, or related role.
• Experience operating Bridgeport mills and manual lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
• Experience repairing small equipment.
• Must have experience using general hand tools and provide your own tools.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic.
