Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring telemetry skills and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Requirements Active RN license (South Dakota or Compact) required BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of PCU or Telemetry RN experience required First-time travelers accepted only with more than 2 years of experience Completion of an accredited nursing education program required Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration preferred, including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Levophed Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration, CIWA protocol, drain/tube management, and catheter insertion/management Experience with insulin drip management for both DKA and non-DKA required Experience with continuous bladder irrigation and chest tube maintenance required Comfortable working in a team nursing model paired with LPNs Strong clinical judgement, physical assessment skills, and professional bedside manner required Responsibilities , careits withinCHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremens RN patient ratio of 1:4 on both PCU/Tele and Med/Surg for days and nights CNA support at a 1:8 ratio on both day and night shifts 12-hour night shift schedule with 36 hours per week Weekend rotation required, working every other or 50% of weekends (Friday-Sunday) per 4-week schedule Holiday coverage required every other holiday during the contract Floating required to Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, ICU (based on experience), and Observation units Uses Epic EMR (preferred), along with Alaris and Omnicell equipment Not scheduled for on-call hours, though low census on-call may occur if hours exceed guaranteed weekly hours Mandatory huddle attendance prior to shift start at 0625 and 1825 Unit supported by 24/7 charge nurses, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and in-house hospitalists 24/7 phlebotomy support available for peripheral blood draws, with RNs responsible for central line draws Centralized telemetry monitoring team available 24/7 for tele reading and alarm notifications Resource/Flex RN available to assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and task items as staffing allows May be expected to precept nursing students Monthly audits conducted for pre/post pain scoring with a 90% compliance requirement Navy blue scrubs required for RNs Free parking provided Orientation includes 2 days of in-class/online education plus two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor Time off requests of up to 7 days may be approved, though contract extension may be required to fulfill a full 13-week schedule No RTO permitted during the first three weeks of August due to the Sturgis Bike Rally Candidates must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility to be eligible Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Facility is known for being traveler-friendly and frequently renews traveler contracts Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-741556 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
