Emergency Nurse (RN) in Ithaca, NY

Key Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in an emergency room (ER) setting
• Proven skills in assessment, triage, and critical decision-making
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal abilities
• Ability to perform calmly under pressure and in urgent situations
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification a plus

Schedule:

• Full-time hours
• Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to individuals experiencing acute illness or trauma
• Triage patients based on urgency and initiate appropriate interventions
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document care accurately
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and aftercare instructions
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and follow hospital protocols
