Mental Health Therapist

Job Overview Ellie Mental Health – Clarkston is an independently operated clinic dedicated to providing high‑quality mental health care. We are hiring a full‑time Therapist (W2 Pay Model) based in Clarkston, Michigan, with flexible work‑from‑home options and competitive compensation ranging from $78,000 to $110,000 per year. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental‑health intakes, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate documentation and diagnoses in the EHR. Deliver 25+ direct client‑facing hours per week (minimum), with an initial schedule for 35 hours per week to support caseload growth. Provide client care that reflects creativity, innovation, and therapeutic effectiveness, while building strong rapport. Submit clear, concise session notes and plan updates promptly to meet agency protocols. Collaborate with families, case managers, schools, medical professionals, and internal teams for coordinated care. Participate in team meetings, clinical trainings, and continuous professional development. Assist with ancillary responsibilities that support clinic operations and culture. Required Qualifications & Core Competencies Master’s degree in a behavioral science or related field from an accredited institution. Full, unrestricted license in Michigan (LMFT, LMSW, LPC, LLP, or equivalent). Proven experience creating and implementing treatment plans and maintaining detailed clinical documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to establish and uphold ethical boundaries with clients. Timely completion of session records and required documentation. Comfort and competence working with diverse populations across age, background, and presenting issues. Proficiency with office tools and electronic health records; experience with Valant is a plus. Preferred Qualifications & Expertise Experience in a private‑practice setting or familiarity with private‑practice workflow. Knowledge of therapy services, community resources, insurance billing, and documentation practices. Credentialing with multiple insurance panels and EAPs. Experience with social media or community marketing to increase clinic visibility. Ability to transition smoothly into a collaborative clinic model while maintaining clinical autonomy.
